The angular rhythms of GANG OF FOUR and PUBLIC IMAGE LTD meets the lyrical cynicism of CRASS. 11 tracks of post punk that parallel sexual obsession with religious fanaticism. This is a really great album. Lyrically it has a strong individualist and at times anarchist approach to socio-political issues like sex, gender, sexuality and the human body. The patriarchy is in the cross-hairs well and truly. Musically, the record combines an angular late 70s post punk sound with a more contemporary 80s inspired gothy post punk vibe. The result is an album that walks the line between the light and dark of both sounds.
