New Order - Power, Corruption & Lies LP

If you were to draw up a list of the greatest albums of all time, then it would be incomplete without mention of this marvel from the legendary New Order. When New Order's debut album came out it was so close to the death of Joy Division singer Ian Curtis that it was largely looked at as a remarkable work of art but a transitional album and quite raw. With their second album, Power, Corruption & Lies, New Order had firmly landed with a more polished and catchier effort and it reached number four on the UK album charts when it was first released in 1983. Among the highlights here is one that's a staple of their live set 'Age Of Consent'. Meanwhile, 'Your Silent Face' is an epic with a highly evocative earworm melody running through its melancholic core. Timeless music that will forever be cherished.
