Products description

Los Angeles-based SOH presents their debut full-length album, showcasing their musical talent and forging a path that is both punk and utterly unique.
SOH is unlike anyone else on the current music scene, and while influences can be discerned in their galloping d-beat rhythms, metallic riffs, and charismatic vocals, everything merges into the band's distinctive sound.
Part of what defines that sound is its eclecticism. You never know what SOH will surprise you with next, and each song offers something new, whether it's a different drummer's rhythm, a new style of riffing, vibrant bass lines, or a new vocal technique never heard before. It feels as though SOH has gone to great lengths to avoid writing the same song over and over again, bringing a distinctive element to each track.
The album is full of highlights, and if you get hooked, for example, by the demonic, frenzied vocals of the second verse of “Walang Paglaya” or by East Bay Ray’s guitar style on “Annihilate,” the band won’t bombard you with the same thing for the rest of the album. SOH’s vocalist is a true chameleon, using everything from screams and shrieks to growls and spoken-word singing to keep every moment of Cost to Live fresh and exciting.
Like the striking album cover, created by Cat Cutlass, Cost to Live is meticulously crafted but not overdone, maintaining a high level of originality and execution without losing the rawness and personality you’d expect from underground punk.
